American Zoetropes presents, a muse production, and in association with eternity pictures is showed first. The title of the movie was presented more in the middle.

The first prioritized images are those of the neighborhood that the story takes place, views of neighbors walking their dogs and watering their lawns. They are all very serene images in a basic sunny setting. Then it goes into the bathroom where Cecilia had an attempt, and the ambulance come to save her. 

What connotations do these images carry?

The images carry an unsuspecting connotation. They show the dark or hidden side of a seemingly normal, happy neighborhood and family. Many people may think nothing goes on in their normal suburban town, but there are always dark sides and hidden truths. It is a rather mundane connotation to it at first, but turns more interesting.

How does the film establish a feeling of the drama form the outset?

The film establishes a feeling of drama from the outset with the dramatic turn of events from a simple town to an attempted suicide. The dramatic element is induced through a deeper, unknown side of the story.

What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

The target audience is the use of possibly 16+ year old with mental illnesses or those interested in mental illness. Strategies used to ensure the film appeals to this would be its casting, they main characters are all teenage. They also almost immediately showcase the character Cecilias struggle with mental illness as she is submerged into the bath water.

How has technology been used effectively? (angles, transitions, editing techniques)

Technology is used effectively to distinguish between the different feelings portrayed in the scenes. The brighter images are shown as such, with warm hues and tones. However, the dark twist goes to a cold, blue, editing colors.
